SeeByte is pleased to announce the award of a twelve month contract extension through the Office of Naval Research (ONR).
PATT is a Performance Analysis & Training Tool developed by SeeByte which can be used to effectively evaluate Mine Counter Measure (MCM) capabilities. The current ONR funded project was tasked with integrating the NSWC PC CAD/CAC software into SeeByte’s PATT module and with the SeeTrack Military product.
SeeByte recently carried out inshore operations using its innovative AutoTracker control software in the St. Margaret’s Hope area, Orkney, to test low-logistics autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) to survey and inspect subsea pipelines.
The BP-sponsored trials successfully demonstrated the integration of the AutoTracker software to two-man-portable AUVs which are pre-programmed on the surface to carry out specific missions underwater, navigating using sonar and other sensors.Subsea 7 is to receive two new Hercules Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs), currently being manufactured by SMD, fitted with SeeByte’s Dynamic Positioning system; SeeTrack Offshore. The vehicles will add to the leading contractors’ existing fleet of ROVs which provide services to the Subsea Umbilical, Riser and Flowline (SURF) sector. SeeTrack Offshore adds additional automation to the ROV control process by providing the ability for the ROV to automatically maintain a fixed position above the seabed or follow a programmed course and speed.
Two globally-leading companies in their own respective fields, Subsea 7 and SeeByte, have joined forces to develop the next generation of Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) for the offshore oil and gas industry. The project will see the development of the first truly autonomous vehicle capable of both inspection and light intervention in an offshore environment.
