SeeByte Ltd is pleased to announce CDR Jon Wood, USN (Ret), has joined the SeeByte team in a full time capacity. Located primarily in San Diego, California, he will be responsible for leading the company’s US Business Development activities in the military market, and for establ
ishing a permanent customer facing presence for the company in the US.
Prior to joining SeeByte, Jon Wood was the commander of the US Navy’s Special Clearance Team (NSCT) ONE, responsible for contingency and expeditionary mine countermeasures, and maritime homeland defence operations world wide. NSCT ONE is also the Navy’s lead warfighting laboratory for tactical aerial and underwater unmanned systems. Jon has earned a Master of Science in Applied Physics from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA and a Master of Science in National Security Strategy from the National War College in Washington, DC.
Founding CEO David Lane said, “Jon is a well-known and well respected figure throughout the international EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) and mine warfare community, and we are very proud to welcome him to the team. Since SeeByte’s foundation in late 2001, our flagship SeeTrack product has grown in capability and made deployments in direct support to US, ANZAC, and NATO Navies. Its open software architecture has enabled data from multiple, distributed EOD assets and sensors to be integrated and combined into a single, near real-time picture of the situation. By also providing a common operator interface to these assets, SeeTrack has significantly reduced personnel training needs and the time taken to plan, execute and post process operational EOD and mine countermeasures missions. As part of our expansion in the US market, Jon will be leading SeeByte’s US presence as SeeTrack is applied in an ever increasing set of aerial and underwater applications, addressing customers’ needs in related market spaces.”
Jon Wood said, “I’m thrilled to join an already strong team that’s delivering truly amazing solutions to provide the warfighter with increased and relevant situational awareness, through a common picture of his operational environment. Such improved awareness is at the heart of US and Coalition desire to keep humans out of harm’s way and to reduce dependence on highly trained operational and engineering staff in remote locations. I’ve never been more excited about the future of the industry, and firmly believe SeeByte will be at the forefront of providing state of the art tools.”
