Palo Alto, and the event was witnessed by SeeByte’s staff, friends and honoured guests from the United States Navy and BP.
Since its founding in 2001, SeeByte has experienced rapid growth providing situation awareness software for people and machines in the offshore and defence industries. The move to Orchard Brae House in the heart of Edinburgh is part of the company’s expansion plan that will ensure SeeByte maintains product leadership, service excellence and the highest quality of customer support delivering “Awareness Made Easy”.
Founding CEO David Lane said: “SeeByte’s strategy has been to listen closely to market demands and focus carefully on the key capabilities our customers actually need, while maintaining international leadership in the underlying technologies we create and deploy. As a result, the SeeTrack software platform is emerging as an industry leader in the underwater marketplace, turning sensor data into actionable information for people and machines. By building the single integrated picture of a situation from numerous sensors and assets, our technology has enabled war fighers in Iraq and unmanned underwater vehicles on the Atlantic Frontier to properly understand and respond to events around them in real time. Such improved awareness is at the heart of our customers’ desires to keep staff out of harm’s way and to reduce dependence on highly trained operational and engineering staff in remote locations.”
Stuart Genet, SeeByte’s Financial Director said: “Since its inception the company has been self-financed through software licensing and development programmes carried out for Naval customers in the US, Europe, New Zealand as well as customers in the offshore market in Aberdeen and Houston, including BP, Subsea 7 and ConocoPhillips. We expect the growth curve we are experiencing to continue as we further penetrate the underwater market and expand our capabilities to address customers’ needs in related market spaces.”
