Jon Wood joined SeeByte, Ltd in August 2007 as Vice President of its U.S.-based Operations and established SeeByte, Inc in 2008. Jon’s naval and joint operations background and extensive international and inter-agency experience provide significant insight and expertise into both U.S. and International Defense and National Security leadership, decision-making and procurement processes.
Jon graduated from the University of Washington with a B. A. in Economics and later earned Master of Science Degrees in Applied Physics from the Naval Postgraduate School and National Security Strategy from the National War College. Jon retired from the U.S. Navy in August 2007 as a Special Operations Officer and Master Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technician with over 20 years of military operational and management experience in mine warfare, diving and salvage, counter-terrorism and maritime security. Jon’s operational experience includes leading Naval Special Clearance Team ONE, the U.S. Navy’s only contingency unit responsible for conducting on-call, very shallow water mine countermeasures and maritime homeland defense missions. During his three-year tour, the team was responsible for demonstrating and introducing several unique preliminary operating capabilities to the Fleet, and also operated as the U.S. Navy’s tactical unmanned systems war-fighting laboratory. He has extensive Navy staff experience as a Branch Head-on-Fleet and Combatant Commander Staffs; serving as the principal advisor for mine warfare, combat salvage, humanitarian demining and explosive ordnance disposal.
Jon resides in Seattle and enjoys spending time with his two boys and dogs, running, biking and boating in Puget Sound and the lakes and mountains of the great northwest.
