SeeTrack AutoTracker
Offshore industries rely on accurate and timely pipeline inspections. In order to accomplish this with autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), an operator must gather data by pre-planning the journey and strongly depend on utilising accurate charts, exact pipeline positioning and expensive and elaborate navigation solutions.
SeeTrack AutoTracker was developed to enable AUVs to carry-out export pipeline inspections using its existing payload sensors to detect and adjust its own trajectory to accurately track the pipeline. The inspection data is improved and time is saved by reducing repeat missions due to missing data. More importantly, it can also reason in the face of multiple pipelines and unexpected pipeline burials to ensure that the right data is gathered from the right offset for the whole survey length. This smart technology is the integral part of this product.
WORLD RECORD-BREAKING: AutoTracker was used in operations, funded by the BP PIMS Business Unit, where it achieved the world longest uninterrupted AUV pipeline inspection run, a total of 22.2 km running at 4 knots. These operations inspected over 100 km of pipelines on BP's northern pipelines with an AUV.
