Confined Area Search (CAS)

The Confined Area Search (CAS) technology communicates, takes control and acts out an inspection task, showcased in real-time 3-D reconstruction of complex areas and accomplishes all of this autonomously. This is a technology that can be utilised by the military for mine identification/verification and port and harbour security measures, as well as for pipeline inspections and floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) ship hull inspections for the offshore oil and gas industry.

The CAS module has been successfully trialled most recently on Bluefin Robotics' Hovering Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (HAUV), in conjunction with the U.S. Office of Naval Research, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Florida Atlantic University and the University of Michigan for ship hull inspection.
